fandom-fridayHappy Friday bookwyrms!

Wow, it’s been awhile since I took over Fandom Friday, but Lupe has been booted into the study corner for Philosophy.

Let’s get started into this week’s newssss.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine canceled

After five seasons, Fox is canceling the show due to ratings, and fans have expressed their disappointment on social hard feelings brooklyn 99

John Green’s Looking for Alaska is turning into a TV show on Hulu for a limited time

Oh dear. I’m extremely nervous about this one. Extremely nervous. Remember Delirium? Yeah, that didn’t go well. It was horrible, so yes… I’m scared, even if I haven’t read the book yet. Plus it’s been years, so this is progress for fans who have been waiting for an adaptation on John Green’s book.looking for alaska john green

Mackenzi Lee’s The Gentlemen’s Guide to Vice and Virtue has been optioned for film

I’ve heard lots of good things about The Gentlemen’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, so I’m excited to see how this will appear on screen! Plus this is another excuse for me to read the book, right?the-gentlemens-guide-to-vice-and-virtue

To Kill a Mockingbird will be coming to Broadway after all

Okay, so I was not aware of this since To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite books that I had to read for school. But… but… To Kill a Mockingbird has the go for being on Broadway! It will open December this kill a mockingbird

  1. VERY UPSET ABOUT BROOKLYN 99 BEING CANCELLED. That show gave me life and I’ve been watching it for half a decade. I cannot believe they are seriously just going to cancel it. I’ve heard talks about someone else picking it up though and given it’s basically cult following, I do think it will be picked up by someone else. It’s just an amazing show that deserves all the attention.

  2. shooting

Oh, I love Gentleman’s Guide so I’m EXTREMELY excited about it being a film. Plus the guy who optioned it is awesome. I’m curious how Looking for Alaska will be – I think a mini series is a good idea. It’s my favorite John Green book, so I’m excited!!

  3. Vee @ Under The Mountain

I thought that literally no-one remembered Delirium and I was starting to think that I was vividly hallucinating to be honest. It was so, so bad. I’m not a Rick And Morty fan plus the fandom really annoys me so I’m not looking forward to that all to be honest… XD

  4. Of Vice and Virtue is on Hoopla right now, this is some motivation to give it a listen. I also just read that brokklyn 99 might get picked up at another network, so there’s some hope for that. Have a Great Weekend!!

    • Oh wait is it really??? I need to see if my library has it, but it’s likely since I don’t think the library has to purchase it like they do with Overdrive? I’m not too sure.

  5. Thats super sad about Brooklyn Nine-Nine 🙁

I have been watching random episodes of Rick And Morty. (mostly when I am playing on my phone or reading and David goes to bed and leaves the TV on for background noise for me) At first I thought it was stupid and that Rick was super gross, but the show has grown on me and I need to watch it from the beginning.
