Happy Friday!

For those who don’t know, I am under a winter storm warning. STL is expecting around 8-12 inches of snow. Am I excited? Of course, I am! I’m not looking forward to driving in the snow. Tons of people do not know how to drive properly in the snow.

Carmen Sandiego

Netflix unveiled a new trailer for Carmen Sandiego. You can stream the series on Netflix on January 18th!

Dumbo

Disney released new posters for Dumbo! Dumbo looks so adorable! I have to admit that the animated film did scare me as a child. Am I the only one who feels that way? Catch the movie in theaters on March 29th!

Shadow and Bone + Six of Crows coming to Netflix

Yes, you read that right! Eric Heisser, known for adapting Bird Box, will adapt Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows series into one! Leigh Bardugo’s best-selling book series will be turned into an 8 episode drama series. Let’s hope they do it justice!. Heisser plans to use the characters and concepts from both series.

Captain Marvel Special Look

Are you familiar with Carmen Sandiego? What are your thoughts on Dumbo? How excited are you for the new series from Netflix?

Lupe is a 21-year-old Latina (she feels 80 sometimes) who loves to read and watch movies and share her thoughts/opinions about them! Her all-time favorite series consists of Bloodlines and Vampire Academy (among others), and her favorite author is Richelle Mead.

  1. I know that the entirety of Book Twitter is freaking out about the Netflix adaptation of Bardugo’s novels, but I am a little bit skeptical. Don’t get me wrong, I love both series. It’s just that Netflix productions are rather hit or miss for me and I don’t want them to mess up one of my favorite series. With so many characters and such a fantastical setting, a lot has to go into it and, therefore, a lot can also go wrong. I am hopeful, but I am not going to bet it will be better than the books.

    • Books are always better than the adaptations, Tessa. 😉 But I’m a little skeptical as well since I think they mentioned this will be only 8 episodes long? I’ve noticed the typical episode is approximately 45 minutes, which is A LOT if they plan on packing in 5 books into those 45 minutes with a little overlap into the next episode. We’ll see, though, when the series releases! Hopefully, we won’t be disappointed.

  2. I used to be obsessed with Carmen Sandiego so I’m (1) nervous and (2) TERRIBLY EXCITED for this. And of course the Grishaverse coming to Netflix is HUGE and I can’t wait. I’m especially excited to see Six of Crows come to life.

  3. Great post Ohh my I absolutely love watching the tv game show of Carmen Sandiego when I was a teenager and this film looks really great. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome post.

  4. Loved Carmen Sandiego growing up! The Bardugo series on Netflix sounds intriguing, him combining the two series. Thanks for the great fandom post Sophia! ❤️❤️
