Happy Saturday, book nerds!

We skipped out on Fangirl Friday last week because Lupe is having problems with the intermawebs and will not return until said problems are fixed (also because Blogger mobile sucks like shizz and we would prefer to avoid that problem completely).

All righty, time for this week’s newsss. The good news, not the bad news, which are way too many if you ask me (there’s three if I remember, and probably more, but don’t remind me please).

Rooster Teeth, creators of the show RWBY, featured a short film starring Weiss Schnee, one of the main characters of the show, according to Entertainment Weekly. If you haven’t watched the show yet, I highly recommend it if you’re in love with badass fairy tale characters and puns. All the puns. Be sure to check out the short film below, and let me know your thoughts! Volume 5 of RWBY premieres October 14.

San Diego Comic Con happened this week! Which means a shizz ton of trailers to showcase. Let’s start with Netflix’s new trailer for their show, Bright, starring Will Smith.

Marvel featured the official trailer for their upcoming show, Inhumans, during SDCC this year.

The Shape of Water also featured their first trailer.

TWO new Harry Potter books are set to be published THIS fall. Lupe has, unfortunately, not read the series yet, so Anelise and I are secretly planning to put her in the HP Box of Shame. YOU HEARD ME, LOOPS.

Sarah Hyland will be appearing in Shadowhunters, based on Cassandra Clare’s bestselling Mortal Instruments series, as the Seelie Queen. Here’s a sneak peek:

We’ve got ourselves a female doctor, Doctor Who fans, much to some people’s dismay. I personally think it’s one step in the direction where females are finally getting lead roles in major fandoms, but we’ve yet to see POC folks.

Julie Plec announced The Originals will be ending at Season 5 on Twitter.

This week is packed with news and trailers from San Diego Comic Con, but that’s all we’re going to cover for this week! Come back next week for more bookish news and whatnots that happen – hopefully internet shenanigans will stop for Lupe, but it’s the internet. Who knows.

Sophia is a socially awkward Communications major who has a GIF for nearly everything and is frequently in a Hogwarts House Crisis. More of her bookish reviews can be found at The Arts STL.
