Weekly Wrap-Up: Anelise Bids Goodbye and Sophia Takes It Easy

Posted July 15, 2018 by Sophia

weekly wrap up

Hello everyone!

See, normally I’d say bookwyrms but I’m one-handed (for the most part). I make no promises of fantastic spelling. 😂

Blogging News

Anelise has stepped down from blogging due to personal reasons. Thanks for joining us for the past year and a half – best of luck with everything! ❤️ *squish hugs*

“WAIT. Does that mean I can join?! 🤔”

Lupe and I are currently deciding to wing it like good procrastinators and are not opening a search for a new coblogger at the moment.

But we’ll take a contributor. 😉

Maybe we’ll kidnap you permanently if you so choose.

This Week’s Posts

Thank you, auto correct, I didn’t have to type that heading. 😂

Bookish Haul

In books? Nothing.

But I was tempted to get American Panda at Barnes and Noble.

I have so much self control, folks. 😂

In bookish stuff? Nawh.

  1. Funko Pop Keychain – I ended up with Luna from the mystery pack.
  2. Harry Potter Page Clips: House Edition – I have another set that feature the trio and Draco.
  3. Metal bookmark featuring a quote – my favorite quote and color. 😍

Reading Life

I finished Hullmetal Girls by Emily Skrutkie, but I can’t write the review. 😭😭😭 (Just when I thought I would be on track.)

Well, I could. I’d struggle though.

So much struggle. #StruggleIsReal

Real Life

I’m in a wrist brace (and I guess it never healed in the first place back in February so yay)! Unfortunately I do have to take it easy, so I’m taking a step back from blogging (it’ll take hours to write a post otherwise) until I see my doctor. 😭

(It doesn’t hurt unless I use it??? I cry.)

But I’ll still respond to comments.

And I’ll visit.

But I might make a mistake or two so please don’t kill me. 😂 (But comment typos aren’t as serious as blogging typos.)

All of that in one hand. 😭

Let’s talk! How’s your week going? Have you ever tried typing with one hand? What’s your favorite bookmark?

Sophia has a GIF for nearly everything and is frequently in a Hogwarts House crisis. Unlike her personality in blog posts, she's a socially awkward recent college grad who majored in Communications. More of her bookish reviews can be found at The Arts STL.

  1. Aw best of luck Anelise!!

A Funko Pop keychain sounds fun.

Was Hullmetal Girls good??? I know, I know, that’s the point of the review, but that one has me… quite curious. I’ll keep an eye out for your thoughts. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have a great week!

  2. Wishing Anelise all the best with her family. Hope you wrist gets to feeling better soon. It can be pretty awful not being able to do the things you’re used to doing everyday. Have a great week.

  3. Aww well if you ever need someone to guest post/contribute every now and then, you know where to find me Sophia <3 I don't type with one hand that much, I'm a fast typer anyway so I can't imagine how annoying it must be for you, typing out posts. I hope you have a good week <3

  4. Yes I hurt my arm once when moving and it took months to heal and I was so frustrated. I have had trouble with my hands before also when I was playing piano / saxophone, tennis, knitting and lots of computer typing. When you get to 12 or more hours a day, they get tired until they are in shape. So heal and read! Anne – Books of My Heart

  5. Sorry about the wrist brace. Iโ€™m supposed to wear those when I sleep because I have a repetitive motion injury from typing. I stopped wearing the braces because theyโ€™re really heavy and bulky, and I kept accidentally punching myself in my face while I was sleeping.

  6. I love your decision to be good procrastinators for the moment ๐Ÿ™‚ As for contributors – are you looking for a guest blogger? If so, I would be interested. Depending on the frequency and the genres you prefer. I hope your wrist heals quickly <3 Sending virtual hugs to you!

  7. I’ve been having wrist problems too (carpal tunnel). I take it easy when I can and then try to cram blog stuff into one day so I can rest after, LOL. Feel better!

  8. Sophia! Sorry about your hand. That sucks. I have tried to type with one hand but I truly suck at it and it’s soooo frustrating.

How did you ever get on with Strange the Dreamer?? Dare I ask? Since I was one of those that told you how much better it got!?
