Weekly Wrap-Up: Habitica Party for Book Bloggers?

Posted April 22, 2018 by Lupe and Sophia

School is winding down for some of us, so the final projects are really knocking on the door. 😭

This Week’s Posts

Book Haul

The upcoming novel by Justina Chen… I completely forgot about it with my life. Oops. 😅

The Reading Life

I finished Fire and Bone and honestly, I feel disappointed after The Heart Forger. Ever had that really good book and every other book turns out to be a disappointment?

Yeah, that’s me right now. I blame Rin Chupeco for doing this to me.

I’ve jumped right into The Way You Make Me Feel by Maurene Goo and so far it’s going okay, but I think it’s getting better.

I have no reading life at this point. What’s new?

I’m trying to clean my Habitica* account up, and I don’t think there’s a party for book bloggers so there’s one now! Join Vee, Chloe, Lauren and me as we unlock our gaming selves while being productive. Let me know if you want in – if it gets big enough (more than 30 as this is the maximum number in a party), we’re considering a guild for book bloggers. šŸ˜‰

*Habitica is a productivity app that is set up like a game with quests, challenges, parties and guilds.

-I have finished my string art project for school!

-I burned my hand from baking! I was checking to see if my bread was fully baked. I was using a rag instead of my oven mitt and I hit the back of my hand on one of the oven racks. Trust me, this is NOT the first time I’ve done this. I have many other oven burn marks on both of my arms. Why do I keep baking again?

Sophia: I thought I was the bad cook and banned from the kitchen!

How is your week? Less exciting? More exciting? Are you a good cook? Do you use Habitica and want to join our currently very small party?

Lupe is a 23-year-old Mexican-American who enjoys reading and watching movies when she gets the chance to relax. Her all-time favorite series consists of Bloodlines and Vampire Academy (among others), and her favorite author is Richelle Mead.

Sophia started blogging in February 2012 for the hell of it and is surprisingly still around. She has a GIF for nearly everything, probably listens to too much K-Pop and is generally in an existential crisis of sorts (she's trying her best). In 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor's in Communications and minor in Women's Studies. More of her bookish reviews and K-pop Roundups can be found at The Arts STL.

  1. I want in on Habitica! I am obsessed with this app and Lauren @Northern Plunder recently informed me about your party – I am so keen!

Lupe, Iā€™m sorry to hear about your reading life, and I hope it gets better soon x

  2. I hate book hangovers. Ugh. And ouch sorry you burned yourself Lupe! I hope the bread was good. šŸ™‚

    Have a good week!!

  3. My week was sent straight from Satan to torture me. šŸ™
I sympathize with the baking burns. I worked at a baked potato store when I was at uni and had so many burn marks from the cooking racks up and down my arms… They all faded, eventually!

  4. My ears perked up when you said productivity app! I actually saw you talk about that on discord last week but couldn’t quite figure out what it was about. I think I’ll try to get the app and then talk to you šŸ™‚ when I figure out what it’s about šŸ˜€

    • It’s an amazing app/site, especially if you have a bit of a gamer side to you or like something a little different from other productivity apps and sites. šŸ™‚
