Happy Holidays!
I can’t believe we’ve made it to December 2021 and therefore the last leg of the year. November has been pretty busy all around especially with people going last minute holiday shopping and all the issues that come with the Pandemic (supply chain, etc. etc.).
It’s been a lot of this:
And this:

Books Hoarded
Nothing. Nothing at all. My wallet does appreciate this restraint that didn’t know as much restraint last month.
Books Devoured
The streak that’s begun since January has maybe slowed down in the middle of the month when things at work started picking up and I just have less brain power because whatever remaining brain cell is just in scream mode. Rest in pieces to my one November ARC that didn’t get finished by release date.
I’m honestly surprised this lasted as long as it did. Usually I’ll read a lot for a few months, abandon reading for a month or two, repeat cycle again. #LifeOfAMoodReader
Except it seems to have come to a hard brake stop two weeks ago since I’ve touched maybe one audiobook and had a deep fascination with Stardew Valley lately. (I don’t think I’m getting out for a hot minute.)
Some Books I Read:
- Kingdom of Slumber and Kingdom of Cinders by Deborah Grace White
- Hollywood Ending by Tash Skilton
- From the Desk of Zoe Washington by Janae Marks
- The Dating Playbook by Farrah Rochon
- Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong (ARC)
- The Wedding Tamasha by Sudha Nair
Fandom Assemble
Media we’ve consumed and enjoyed, or what we’re looking forward to that’s been announced lately.
November was like September, where I realized, “Oh, yeah, I have a Netflix and I should actually use it,” and also I finally watched Mockingjay Part 2 because that was really the first thing I thought of when I realized I have Google Play credits expiring soon.
Other Things I Watched:
- Dumplin’
- Vivo
- Bromance – Partially this leaving Netflix at the end of November was why I abandoned reading because 30 episodes in a few days for me is a challenge.
- Space Sweepers
- Train to Busan
- The Princess Switch 3 – I know I found The Princess Switch so cringe and bad (even for a Christmas movie) it was funny and therefore the likelihood of me watching the other Princess Switch movies is low when there are better Christmas movies, but here we are. And yeah, it was bad. At least the first one was fun.
As for music, I haven’t really stayed in touch with music releases this month even though all I’m listening to at work is music currently. Every Friday when Spotify refreshes their New Releases playlist for me is when I’ll waddle in, add a few interesting songs and new releases from artists I’ve listened to in the queue, and then waddle away.
A Handful that I Remember Liking:
- No Limit (mini album) by Monsta X
- Maverick (single album) by The Boyz
- Blood Moon (mini album) by Oneus
- Formula of Love: O+T=<3 (full album) by Twice
The Breakdown
What catastrophes have the universe handed us throughout the month? Let’s find out. 🧐
You know you’re currently a mess when you’ve been utilizing your bullet journal steadily for most of the year, then all of a sudden you forget to make spreads and just use the same spread for two weeks in a row. I’ve also not filled out anything in my November favorites even though there are favorites.
I maybe have a fraction of a brain cell holding on by like a finger currently.
But hey if anything, that finger grip is very strong and has not actually flown away with the rest of the brain cells. Unfortunately, said brain cell is currently attached to Stardew Valley.
Other than that, I think the biggest thing that really happened was finding a new web host (just in time for Black Friday deals, though) since the one I’ve been with is closing. It’s a little weird not doing the migration myself this time and going back to managed WordPress.
Let’s talk, bookwyrms: How was your November? What do you hope to complete in December?
Sophia started blogging in February 2012 for the hell of it and is surprisingly still around. She has a GIF for nearly everything, probably listens to too much K-Pop and is generally in an existential crisis of sorts (she's trying her best). More of her bookish reviews and K-Pop Roundups can be found at The Arts STL.

One day I will play Stardew Valley, I used to play Harvest Moon which is similar in the sense its a farming game. Lmao me with my bujo too, I make spreads with every intention of using them but then the weeks passes by and I’m like oh… its the weekend once more 😂 proud of you for binging bromance tho you did good ❤️
Sophia says
If you liked Harvest Moon, I think you’ll enjoy Stardew Valley! I’ve never played it myself though unfortunately, but now that I’m out of my Stardew Valley zone again I’m tempted to actually download Harvest Moon.

Take care of that one brain cell! LOL.
I miss having you around (also, no one wishes me a good morning anymore 😂😉). I hope you’ll figure out how to balance RL and reading/blogging more…

Hopefully I’ll figure it out next year, haha! But I mean… Knowing myself I won’t. There’s still a chance I’ll find that secret sauce.
Oh no, we can’t have no good morning wishes. Gonna go rectify that right now 🚶♀️💨

Sounds like a lot has been happening and it’s been very busy!! I hope you have a nice break soon where you can just relax and read or watch fun movies. I’ve been watching various holiday films on TV, and trying to keep up with certain shows that I enjoy like FBI and all that. I’m a couple episodes behind! lol

I meant to re-watch Train To Busan last month and then just kinda forgot. I can’t believe how close it is to Christmas! And 2022! I need a paper bag to breathe into.

I honestly don’t know where this year has gone! I am enjoying the holiday season though, and have been throwing all of my energy into my family. 🙂 It’s been nice.

Take care of our braincell, Soph!
I love me some Stardew Valley and honestly am thriving with you playing it. You also got so much reach in, I am jealous of your reading monster of 2021. Please share.

I will absolutely share with you from my 200ish books that I read – here’s 50 books just for you. ❤
