A Peek Into the Unicorn Hoard Pack in Wizard101

I am such a procrastinator, but I am addicted to cuteness overload.

Let’s talk about the new Unicorn Hoard Pack

With the newest updates (more on that later), we got a new pack. There are chances to get a unicorn plushie, which is super cute from the promotional photos from Wizard101. There’s also a set of mounts, gear and wands.

Mounts

There are three different mounts from this pack: Fantastic, Majestic and Mystic. I didn’t get any permanent ones, but I did get quite a few rental mounts of each.

I’m not a huge fan of the fantastic unicorn since the colors feels out of place with my character, but I think I’ll like the mystic unicorn when I use it (it’s as dark as my soul…)

I really like the colors for the fantastic unicorn mount though! I do think it could be more a little more vibrant like the ones for the majestic unicorn.

I’m not the greatest screen recorder, so bear with me, haha. Here’s a small recording of the mount’s movements, which I think describes a unicorn perfectly. (Also a closer look at that fluff of hair.)

Gear

There’s not much I can say about the gear, since I have a preference for well-rounded stats. Let’s take a peek at some of the items from head to toe plus weapons.

Hairstyles

I’m actually really surprised I got a hairstyle out of the few packs I opened, haha. The Unicorn Wig comes with no stats at all and it is as colorful as the rest of the pack. There doesn’t seem to be more than one hairstyle, though.

Weapons

Back when The Hunger Games was a HUGE thing, I had a small addiction to bows, so I always had a bow stitch. The rain-bow brings back some of those memories, though in much more colorful way. (Are the others different? I wasn’t that lucky.)

There seems to be three different sets as well: Paladin, Champion, and Knight.

Champion Set

The Champion set seems to be universal/balance. It does seem to be more offensive rather than defensive and honestly, if you’re looking for more damage over critical (this is assuming you have a balance with Masque of the Exalted One), health and shadow pips, the Champion set isn’t bad.

I can’t say anything about the stats of the boots, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Chromatic Blast, which is originally only available as a spell for storm wizards only. I’m a huge fan of Chromatic Blast, especially as a storm wizard since stacking that spell with Supercharge could pack quite a bit of damage.

Paladin Set

The Paladin is aimed toward the elemental schools. This also seems to give more of a nod towards the shadow school spells.

Knight Set

The third set included in the Unicorn Hoard pack is the Knight set, aimed toward the spirit schools.

I’m not sure about the other robes, but it provides some decent universal resist and outgoing healing, especially at a lower tier.

Pet

The unicorn plushies are SUPER cute, at least from the social media pictures, and I absolutely adore them. I have a preference for the mystic plushie since it’s black and it’ll fit with my character’s outfit.

Overview

The Unicorn Hoard Pack costs 399 crowns in the crown shop with a chance at three different sets. It’s very colorful, so it’s perfect for those who want to get the pack for aesthetically pleasing items like the rain-bow and unicorn plushies.
