Wowowow. Bookwyrming Thoughts survived for six years, oh my goodness. Someone pinch me. 😱
See, back in 2012 when I first started high school, I wasn’t expecting to survive a year, much less like six years. I figured I would survive a few months like my first blog and finally call it quits. And well… I wasn’t expecting things to happen.
Yet it did. And here we are, in 2018, sitting at six years and counting.
I think I say this every year but I’m always surprised when Halloween week comes around and realize I haven’t dropped off the face of the blogosphere quite yet.
Things happened in the past year!
Like MOVING TO WORDPRESS. That’s a BIG deal. And I’m still not done with reformatting everything despite having all summer (but I had wrist issues at the time and I still do, but I have a support). Maybe I’ll accomplish some cleaning this winter.
But you can tell I gave up at some point because I keep some of my old posts in all the horrifying glory minus broken links and weird Google Analytics code.
Total Published Posts – 972
Look… if you’ve been following BWT for some time, you’ll notice the number is quite off. Shouldn’t it be well over 1000? I deleted some posts after the move for reasons, though.
Total Views – 7,592
I basically had to start over with views since I moved to WordPress in late February/early March.
Blog and Social Media Followers – 7,180
Because I can never keep track of them all, so I lump them together. And maybe it makes me feel a little bit better because there are less smol numbers.
Most Popular Post – Would You Want a Bookish Character as Your Roommate?
For the longest time, A Peek into the Unicorn Hoard Pack in Wizard101 was the most popular because everyone seems to have a thing for unicorns? No lie, though, unicorns are amazing.
Strangest Search Term(s) – Rotten hut
How did you even get to the blog in the first place? I don’t know if I want to laugh or not. “Goodness, real goodness, has it’s own sort of cruelty to it” sounds like a prettier search term.
❤ Wonderful Blogging Beans ❤
Clo @ Cuppa Clo – Hi, you fellow dragon and INFP. Thanks for selling me your soul.
Evelina @ Avalinah’s Books – *hugs* Everything you do is amazing and you’re wonderful for creating the New Blogger’s Discord server. I mean, I did end up with Clo’s soul in the process, so that’s nice.
Roberta @ Offbeat YA – I DIDN’T FORGET YOU THIS TIME. (Aren’t you proud of me.) Also, has anyone kidnapped the real Roberta (who doesn’t schedule a million months ahead) or have you returned? 🤔
Sam @ Fictionally Sam – Everything is a mood for you, so maybe this post is a mood? 😂
Camilla @ Reader in the Attic – Your typos are amusing and fabulous. P.S. We still love you.
Kal @ Reader Voracious – The one and only data queen of Discord. Also, “sizzling girlfriend.”
Vee @ My Reading List – Keep being you, fabulous bean.
Tessa @ Crazy For YA – Fellow blogoversary month buddy. 😝
I am like 99% sure I forgot someone here, so if I did, I AM VERY VERY SORRY. Please know that I love and support you and if you want to, you may now roll me to the ground and drag me for forgetting you.
Let’s talk, bookwyrms! Are you celebrating your blogging journey this month? How long have you been blogging? *screeches* Did I forget you?!?!?!
I mean, you don’t have to tell me if I forgot you. You really don’t. But then I’ll be forgetful again, which is a bad thing to happen. 😭
Sophia started blogging in February 2012 for the hell of it and is surprisingly still around. She has a GIF for nearly everything, probably listens to too much K-Pop and is generally in an existential crisis of sorts (she's trying her best). More of her bookish reviews and K-Pop Roundups can be found at The Arts STL.
If you enjoy her posts or found them helpful, consider tipping on KoFi!

Thanks, Gayathri!

CONGRATS ON SIX YEARS! *Throws confetti everywhere* As someone who is continually jumping from one project to the next, I cannot even fathom sticking with something for so long – that is an absolutely amazing accomplishment! As somebody who just started a book blog, I loved reading this post because it was fun to see all the stats and accomplishments of a long-time blogger. Thanks so much for such a great read! 🙂
Noel says
Congrats!! That’s a long time! 😀
Sophia says
Thanks, Noel!

Wow, yay! Happ Blogoversary! I started in 2011 and I’m still limping along. I switched to WordPress because I was one of the victims of the Photobucket debacle, and I (sadly) abandoned over 5 years of posts on Blogger. But it was also kind of nice not to have to deal with all the re-formatting.
Sophia says
Oh no! Sorry to hear about that! I was also one of them, but fortunately, most of my photos weren’t hosted on Photobucket (because I apparently overheard someone saying Blogger photo hosting is completely free despite the millions of folders it makes in my drive). Starting over is definitely a perk of not reformatting – that’s a complete hassle that I still haven’t finished yet.
Sophia says
Oooo October 14. I NOW KNOW YOUR BLOGOVERSARY AND CAN PUBLICLY CALL YOU OUT AND SAY HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY MUAHAHAHA. I only realized a few days before and was like, “Shoot. I really should write this post because otherwise there’s no post for awhile and ahhhh.”
Also that is true. An invisible hiatus is the best kind of hiatus because no one will ever notice.
Evelina @ AvalinahsBooks says
And I believe I haven’t even commented on this yet. Aww, thank you!!! I am blushing 😀 I think I’ve already congratulated you somewhere on the chats, but doesn’t hurt to do it again 🙂 and that’s so many published posts! Awesome 🙂 congrats!! You know, I’m struggling only after 2 years, so I am in awe of you being able to blog for SO LONG!!!! My hero 🙂
Sophia says
Thanks, Evelina! I’m surprised I lasted this long as well – my attention span is usually within a year, haha. You are doing great and I’m sure you’ll find your way through the struggle soon. <3
