“You’ve done better.”
With one uncharacteristically sassy tweet to her longtime celebrity crush, Zoe Miller’s life turns upside down. Ultrahot A-lister Chase Covington doesn’t just respond to Zoe’s tweet, he does the unthinkable: he messages Zoe directly. Now she must decide between walking away or meeting her crush in person.
Chase knows better than to trust anyone from the Internet, but Zoe’s saucy challenge has totally caught his interest—and her girl-next-door personality is keeping it. He’s been burned enough to know he needs to keep his heart close. But his feelings for Zoe might be a lot more than just an online flirtation. He just has to convince her…
When the press gets wind of Zoe and Chase’s secret relationship, their romance turns into tabloid headlines. Will they be able to hold on to their Hollywood love story?
Please hold while I die from cuteness overload for a moment.
Okay, we’re good. Back to our regularly scheduled review.
Wow, I have so much love for #Starstruck.
I am not an adult fiction reader, much less a romance reader, but after reading Jovita’s review on Inky Impressions, I knew I had to add this book and up it on my TBR ASAP. Besides, with the Kindle Unlimited deal I got, I might as well.
#Starstruck does not feel like an adult romance.
I’d honestly categorize this as New Adult since our main character Zoe, is in her early 20s and still in college. In fact, we’re just going to mark this New Adult. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But the best part about the first book in the #Lovestruck series?
There’s no sex at all. The romance is completely clean and this makes my heart so so happy. I’m scared of adult 95% of the time because WHAT IF I TURN THE PAGE AND THE CHARACTERS ARE GOING AT IT??? Yeah, I don’t sign up for that. Nope, not ready. Not interested. Nuh-uh.
Zoe and Chase are one of the cutest couples out there. 😍
I’m pretty sure most of my notes are filled with heart-eyed and laughing emojis. What even are coherent notes? I enjoyed their interactions from the very first page and wanted more from the couple by the end of the novel. We all know that’s not going to happen, so I’ll sit here being a sad bookwyrm. 😭
#RelationshipGoals
I don’t know, I’m probably a hopeless romantic. Chase is the sweetest love interest ever and I appreciated how much he respected Zoe’s decision of refraining from sex until marriage. I also appreciated how much they respected each other in general and no one person in the relationship had more power over the other. We’re going down with this ship, bookwyrms, and I’m definitely continuing the series for more ships to go down with.

Sophia started blogging in February 2012 for the hell of it and is surprisingly still around. She has a GIF for nearly everything, probably listens to too much K-Pop and is generally in an existential crisis of sorts (she's trying her best). More of her bookish reviews and K-Pop Roundups can be found at The Arts STL.

This honestly sounds SO ADORABLE and the fact there’s no typical Adult Romance steam makes me really want to read it, putting it on the tbr! Not to mention I love that they first interact over twitter lol
Sophia says
DO IT, HALEY. I also enjoyed the Twitter aspect as well since we hear stories about how people start their relationship on Twitter.

I have had my eye on this series. It absolutely sounds like something I would enjoy. I just downloaded my OLDEST ARC from my cloud, and it happens to be by Wilson, that’s why I had to check out this review. I will happily take a chance on Wilson, because her storytelling sounds delightful.
Sophia says
I think you’ll love this one, Sam! I haven’t read any of her other works, but from what I’ve gotten from other reviewers and other books from the series (despite not liking them), I enjoy Wilson’s writing and would gladly continue checking out her other books.

These are the types of romances I love to see! Mutual respect for one another and their personal beliefs. I used to red new adult but back then, it was so sexually charged and every female character was a virgin who slut shamed other girls for wanting to have sex, Male characters were sexually active with multiple partners yet would change their live and sexual lifestyle for the virgin girl and they’d have wild sex all over the pages. It’s unrealistic for most people and felt like filler for the lac of storyline. This one is perfect! I love romances and the fact that sex isn’t part of the equation? Awesome! Brilliant review Soph and so glad you enjoyed this one!

awww I am glad you went out of your normal genres & comfort zone to give this book a try! It’s great that it worked out for you, and I love that there’s a clean & heartwarming NA romance out there. Great review, Soph!

*sits on top of TBR cackling down at you* To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the cover, LOL. It smells of adult romance novel that I DON’T want to read.
